Technical University of Denmark (DTU) is one of Europe’s foremost technical universities. The Department for Energy Conversion and Storage (DTU Energy) focuses on education, research and development within functional materials and their application in sustainable energy technologies. Research topics include advanced characterization and development of fuel cells, electrolysis cells, redox flow batteries, next generation encapsulated batteries, sustainable energy storage materials, as well as computational materials design.

Main tasks in PREDICTOR

DTU hosts two PhD projects and contributes to the network training activities in atomic-scale modelling of flow battery materials. The projects’ objective is to develop computational methodology for predictive simulations of degradation reactions of electrolytes and of heterogeneous electron transfer on functionalized electrodes.

Thanks to the unique collaborative and synergistic structure of the Doctoral Network, PREDICTOR enables us to directly integrate our models in state-of-the-art modelling software, bridge them with other physical and machine learning models, and immediately deploy them to study technologically relevant materials for flow batteries.
